New Plane -- Bipe Streak

I can't remember who I got the plans from and too lazy, besides rain to go see who designed it.  But the design is straight forward.  The changes I made should not hurt that much.  One is I moved the bellcrank from the wing to the fuselage.  Used the old hang by finger on the inboard strut and looks about right procedure.  Moved the engine back as it is an LA 25 and did not have a 15.  I think the wing area is big enough.  Still have to add tip weight and cut the bolts off on the control horn.  Don't ask about weight as I did not weigh it.  It is covered with monokote.  Another thing is I spread the center ribs apart on the bottom wing so the fuselage would go between them.  It is notched out for the spar, leading edge and trailing edge.  I think it makes for stronger wing to fuse joint on profiles.  Will let you know how it flies when I can get it out.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

Probably the same way I got mine - from a gentleman who goes by Quickshift on SSW.  I got the bipe plans also, but I'm building a 45 Streak first.  Your bipe looks great.  Mine looks like most any Streak, but that is an old Veco 45 and a 12 inch prop.  How far back did you move the engine?

I moved it back the distance of the mounting holes.  I think it is a little over 9/16's of an inch.  Your Flite Streak looks good in bare bones.  DOC Holliday

You said you don't have a 15?  I was planning to use a RedHead 35, but I do have an Enya 19.  Do you think the Enya would pull it OK?  I built a couple of Sterlings's Flying Fools back when, and it was all the old McCoy could do.  They were about the same size, I think, but pretty heavy.  At least they sure seemed overweight compared to the other planes I had back then. Thanks for any advice.

Go with the Enya 19 as the McCoy 35 would be too much engine.  This only has a 33 inch top wing.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday
