Here is my new plane.
-
EXCELLENT! 8)
-
Very impressive. I don't see ANYTHING wrong with this airplane. Wow.
-
Checks on rudder are really cool.
Is this a Geiseki "Bear" ?
-
Looks pretty darn serious. VERY NICE! y1
-
Are the Ghosted blue checkers on the Wing also? I cannot tell from the photo.
Excellent work - another masterpiece from the Surface of the Moon.
Fantastic buffing work Doug : Its a nice Ode to the original Riff Raff.
Dont see Vortex generators - plans to add them ?
Again - Sensational effort - Love that Cowl.
-
Very nice, Doug. I have a personal connection with the name, of course, coming from a long line of riffraff.
-
It is a Gieseke bear. The larger version with the Geo wing.
The ghost checks are on the nose only. Whew, I couldn't imagine putting the all over. They were so hard to do because the paint is dull prior to clear and they are almost the exact same color so alignment was really difficult. Under flourescent lights at 1 am it all just fades together. I just took the blue and added two drops or silver to create the ghost color. Then I made just five passes with the airbrush on each row as I worked to make sure they were all the same shade so others wouldn't be darker or lighter than others. I contemplated that move for along time before actually doing it. I was nervous about it to say the least.
Thanks for the compliments guys!!
I got the first three flights on it this evening. I think it will be pretty good.
This paint scheme is very near the current Riff Raff scheme they had for 2010-2011. They used black instead of blue though.
-
Wow! Doug, that plane is stunning to look at. What a beautiful paint scheme over a flawless model. Front row for sure!
-
Still looks amazing - your finest effort I've seen - Well done mate.
" The ghost checks are on the nose only. "
Ohh....... I see.
There must be another word for dissapointing... I will think of it soon enough.

Someday I might learn how to pull something like this off.

Man, I really like that. Claudio should like it since he did a Voodoo that was really cool, too.
Good work, Doug. Go get em.

Looks awesome, Doug! I think it is the best one I have seen from you. And that is a tough call since you have had some very pretty models!

That is GORGEOUS Doug. I need to get back to a Dallas contest and see this fly.

Pardon my French, but that is bad ass!! Should be a good one Doug!!!! CLP**

I also like it very much. Your fin/rudder checkers look 1000X better than the emaciated checkers on the real RiffRaff. Power system? H^^

I gotta join the parade of praise Doug, that is by far one of the most gorgeous ships I've seen, and that covers a LOT of stunt ships! Wow. (I bet you counted the amount of sandpaper you used by the pound instead of by the sheet!)
