Title: New Part-Time Field....Some Flying..Electric Super Clown, Bob flies, Privateer

The Minneapolis Piston Poppers got a new part time place to fly. We have Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Cannot fly alone and must have a club member with you....the ol' No Stooge Rule. Mufflers required for sure.
It is working out real goodly and most of us are happy to have a place to grab a handle and fly with the breeze.
The City od Fridley has been working well with us and encouraging our hobby.
We should be the Fridley Piston Poppers y1

Sounds like you guys have hit it lucky.  You may have to set up some demos and teaching sessions.   Just emphasize the fun part.

So far we have a few gawkers. No specific person has expressed interest yet. Seems once you mention building, assembly and of course cost the conversation changes. Mainly it is just us flying and the other folks there are doing there thing...tennis, softball and soccer. Bike riding and dog walking.
I actually kinda like it that way.

Tell, them about Stunt Hanger,  Brodaks Mfg and RSM Dist.  A lot of stuff that doesn't take much to get flying.  What ever happened to Americas Hobby Center.  Ordered a lot of stuff from them when I lived on the farm.

Truly I should make hand outs with that info on it. Then tis up to them.

Yes, PAMPA had created handouts years ago. Brodak and some others included them with C/L product orders. Maybe some of those are still around...

Regarding the Fridley Piston Poppers...some advise. The Seattle Skyraiders (my boyz) ran into that problem when we were looking for a place to fly. Most members are South King County residents. Our field was a "homesteaded" piece of unused Park Dept. land in the City of Kent. They didn't see why they should provide park space for the Seattle Skyraiders, so we changed our name to "NW Skyraiders".  With an eye to the future, you may want to change your name to something less geographically specific.   H^^ Steve
