Title: New not so new Hobby Shop
Post by: john e. holliday on November 21, 2007, 03:22:24 PM
Someone at the flying field told me that Charlie Reeds kids had opened a hobby shop in Raytown Missouri.  It is called  Charlie's RC Hobby at 6233 Blue Ridge Blvd in Raytown Mo.  It is in a shopping center that is being built just north of 63rd Street on Blue Ridge Blvd on east side of the blvd.  I walked into the place expecting just another RC shop and was surprised to see a control line plane being rebuilt.  Turns out that they fly control down at the Lake of the Ozarks when they are down there.  He also states they fly at Lake Jacomo on the helicoptor pad.  I told him of where we flying.  Anyway on the bench was a Brodak catalog and an issue of Control Line World.  I had to post this as I found some stuff that I could not check out without buying first, like the conversion head that MECOA makes for the 1/2A's for standard glow plugs.  He had several Brodak kits and ARF's in stock.  Picked up the Brodak Bearcat to see how it compares with the original J-Roberts kit and the price was right.  Later and have fun,  DOC Holliday

PS:I think bootlegger brought the snow with him we are having as well as some wind.  jeh

That is interesting Doc. I used to fly with Charley Reed, his son in law John Britt, Leanard McCoy, Bud Atkinson, and a bunch of other guys from the K.C. area. Back in the old days when R/C pattern was fun.
