 Lookie what I got in the mail today.

 RSM RIngmaster.  Kit looks wonderful and seems pretty straight forward and easy. Only problem was the 1/16 x 2 x 36 Blasa Sheer Web broke about 4 inches from the end. GOna see about replacing it thru RSM or from a local shop!

Just use some yellow wood glue and glue it back together.  Should be as strong as before with no problems.  Nice looking kit by the way!

Well I have 1 Cox Golden Bee and 3 Baby bees used as paperweights for the plans.

 OHHHHHHHHHHHH That is my Enya .35 .  Looking at it very hard for this plane. Then again I have choices.  Enya.35, Evo.36, and OS.25 .

 Reckon I will want the extra power for reassurance so Im scratching the .25 idea.

 My dad has a Enya.35 on a Profile Smoothie and that plane fly like no tomorow. So Im leaning a lil more that way

  If that RM is light as they tend to be with good wood selection and I know Eric and he does not sell the junk kits we use to get back in the 50s and 60s. That OS .25 will be plenty of engine for that plane. I have a FP .25 on a scratch built RM and it is plenty of engine. I had the ribs laser cut by Pat Johnston. Now back in the day when the kits were just $3.95 and a new Mc Coy .35 Red Head was a mere $5.95 it took a .35 to fly them. We were kids and knew nothing about weight. The planes didn't last more than a few flights anyway. Get you a supply of good wood, save your scrapes, buy out other model projects, and build your planes two or three at a time. Use the kit for a template and cut new parts. You can't have too many planes. I have over a dozen ready to fly right now and my stash is a mere pittance compared to what some others have in their hangers. Anyway don't get too serious about the hobby just yet but go and have some fun flying stunt, racing, and combat.

I second the vote for the O.S. .25. I have had several Rinmasters and Flite Streaks with this engine. It makes a great combo with a RM, runs smooth and is easy on fuel. Also works with a muffler if your field requires it, some of the classic engines( Fox .35, McCoy) don't always like mufflers resricting their breathing.

Of the engines choices you have, the OS 25 is the best match.  Which model OS do you have, LA, FP, or older Max S ?
Build light, keep it under 30 oz and .25 power is plenty enough..  
One of our club members has a porky S1 (32~34oz) and it does fine on LA-25.
With the RSM kit, its easy to get it down in the mid 20's if you dont get carried away with paint.
Use 2.5 or 3.0 ounce tank, 10-4 or 9-5 prop, and .012" x 58' lines.

My Ringmaster is built from the same kit you have.  I have flown it with a Brodak 25 (for me the best combination), ST23 and most recently an FP20.  All of the engines work great if kept light and it is a fun plane to fly too.  Mine weighs 24 ozs and is finished with monokote wings.  I covered the fuse with CF veil base and Dupli-Color finish.

The Ringmaster in my avitar has an OS LA .25 and it flys GREAT. Its like a match made in heaven. The prop is a 10x4 and a 3oz. tank.

I agree with the Z-Man.  Brodak 25 is what I have on my S1.  Kept mine light (also 24oz.) by covering with silkspan and clear dope.  All the trim was done with green and yellow domestic tissue only, no paint, only clear dope.

Allan I remember seeing that gorgeous Ringer in Baton Rouge. It is quite stunning.  I have the OS 25 La THanks to a contest over at the Brotherhood. Brand new and never run. GOtta break it in but that will come later.

The RSM came with Some Silk but I have never done it before. My dad has many times. I may go with the money-kote option on this one as it would be easier for me.

Just one little thought from me on the breakage. I always double glue balsa so there is no leaching of the glue into the grain. It will be stronger than the serounding material. It takes a little bit longer but is worth the time to get the strength. Try it and most of all, HAVE FUN!---LOUIE

I would definately use the LA25. About a perfect match for that plane.
