Hi all..
So I have'nt really mentioned much about this one to the open forum. Sort of keeping the build to myself ( read that concentrating on getting it finished)
so there isnt too much information out there on this one.
This is my 2011 model which originally started out life last year as the Model I was going to fly in Open at the US Nats 2011. So obviously I finished it the way I would have normally done so. As it turned out I had more than enough time to build a new ( read that Newer.. ) model to compete with in July. So this one you see here has been designated my backup model.
I will have my official Nats model finished within the next 2 months. ( In final stages of paint prep with carbon Veil on already )
However finding time to finish an Ares, Raptor, US nats Classic model and Open Stunter has proved challenging ! )
The specs are
620 SQ
Wing on this one is close to the thundergazer with 1/2 " swept back hingeline
Flaps are identical as Dave's except with only 1/2 " Assymetry instead of 3/4
Tailplane is my own set of numbers
Trim tabs on both wings
Howard Rush boost tabs
Carbon Undercarts from Kaz Minato
Mostly is close to what Dave did but with just some small adjustments
Nose length is shorter ( 9 " )
Engine : Stalker .81
Weight : 62 oz
I also wanted to play around with Ink lines - Having more of a weathered effect that simple straight lines. And wanted more detail that what Windy has done in the past with air bush Shadowing. However he was my inspiration for that.
Again I used PPG Global systems for Clear.

I do like the panel detail. And, of course, the tiger stripes are just wicked.
-
That is sick!!!!!!!
THe panel lines and rivets are very nicely done.... Talent right there!
-
looks great PJ - howsabout bringing it over the ditch for a fly?
-
Like the actor said on that TV show years ago.........DY--NO--MITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Wow! Now that's talent. I do good just to get one put together, never mind the artwork. You ought to win something with that! ;D
-
Thanks Randy :)
Bring it over the ditch.. This is just my backup for the Us nats.. I'l do another with more detail.
-
Bro,
Can I hang out at your house!!!
-
Wow, that new bird looks great!
Fantastic paint work! If it fly's as good as it looks, we're all in trouble.
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to flight reports PJ!

Eric will you be at the Nats?
-
Man-o-man-o-man! I don't have words to say how much I like that! The panel lines alone should be worth a Pulitzer!!! The tiger stripes are just icing on the cake!
-
Very Cool PJ. y1 I really like your variation on panel line detail, the stuff "leaking" is a really cool effect.
-
My take on weathering.. If you look at Windys A26 and spitfire he did similiar but I just spent longer doing each of the oil stains indivually. Weathering is difficult to get right. When you think you need to do more, thats when you need to stop.
