Well I flew into Portland Or. this afternoon and finally met some of the nicest guys that fly C/L in the North West. Ivan, Leo (who fly’s bassakwards at 74 yrs young) Bill, Jerry, Scott and Art. Art let me fly his SkyRay 35 with a OS LA 25. Real nice setup. I offered to swap him even for my SkyRay and I was going to pay shipping both ways. He turned me down.
What a nice flying field they have. Big shade trees to sit under and watch the planes fly by and smell the castor. One grass circle and one asphalt. Jim Walker Memorial Field. I got to see Scott’s Cobra. Pictures do not do it justice. You have to see the finish on it. A real eye catcher. Leo’s plane was his own design. A real nice looker, and it fly’s in the other direction. I wish I had a camera, I would have made another slide show. Afterwards we stopped by Scott’s house and I could have stayed all week in that guys basement. I was like a kid in a candy store! Engines, Kits, foam wings, more engines, kits, planes hanging from the rafters, planes stacked in the corner and more stuff, books, tapes… and on and on.
Thanks Art and Scott for a wonderful afternoon!!!
