Lets try this again.  For reinforcing, as well as other uses that can replace carbon vail for cheap:  Clothes dryer sheets are polyester vail   They are cheap at about a nickel each for a 6.4 " x  9" sheet.  They are light and seem to work with any adhesive.  Several brands such Bounce are stuffed in the box and need to be ironed flat.  Suavitel brand sheets are neatly folded flat in the box.  I have found these in Walmart.  I am presently molding these sheets with an epoxy matrix to form some parts.  I also use them to reinforce the center section of wings in profiles.  There are many more uses.  SLEEPY

I love using 'found' items that are common place but are not considered "hobbyware".

I have used these sheets myself and use them wherever reinforcement is needed. Since I mostly do 1/2A, I use them around engine mounts and landing gear.
A little bit on the outboard wing tip.
I can also use them in place of the cloth hinges as were supplied in kits once upon a time.
 Just cut a strip for each side of the elevator and after the plane has its finish, just a little Duco cement and when they are on the underside, you would never know it!

In the spirit of true "cheapness", I assume you use them after they make a run thru the dryer? At least then most of the antistatic stuff should be removed.

Polyspan would be the same thing, but you can get a much cheaper and a little thicker version at the Fabric/Sewing store. It's a bit too thick for covering wings, but would be great for your purpose. It wouldn't have the anti-static gumbo added, so you don't have to wait for them to get used by the laundry department.  I don't use those dryer sheets, 'cause they are allergic to my skin.  Steve
