Well it's cold, dark and windy in Albuquerque when I get off work these days. Time to start another hotel room building project. It's a Super Fly Super Slow racer, gotta get in on some of this high desert racing action.
All the balsa is from the Bargain Bin at CLC. I'm trying to build it for less than $25, gonna recycle a bunch of saved parts, control system, hardware, tank, gear, etc. Rattle can and film covering. Trustee OS .25 FP from my SkyRingStreak beater will do the locomoting.
Test fitting parts, and marking ribs for notching spar slots. more pics in a few days.
Cap strips, leading edge sheeting on, fuse cutout trimmed to fit, etc. I put capstrips on, trimmed them to front edge of spar, then notched the L/E sheeting to reach the back edge of the spar. Makes a nice inter-locking edge, that sands down nice-n-smooth

Just a hint on the plane. You might consider replacing the landng gear. I built two of them and barely have room for a 9 inch prop. H^^

Bill,Cool build. That will make 5 or 6 SSR racers in the club now...should be an interesting winter. 8)

I once had to stay in a hotel room for 2 weeks. So I bought a Top Flite Taurus (R/C) kit and built it on the table top. I was careful to clean up each night so the housekeeper wouldn't report me! Now, I wouldn't bother to clean up each night! Let them suffer!

Nice work, but it doesn't look anything like a hotel. ;D

Hey Bill, when are you getting back to Phoenix? The weather here is perfect, low 70's.

Very cool. SSR has faded from sight in this area. Glad to hear it's alive and healthy elsewhere. I know several people on SH who would enjoy hearing news of your future high desert racing hijinks as they happen. Happy racing!

Don't know about Phoenix, but I hope to drive down to Tuscon from ABQ for the regionals in Jan. Just have to juggle the schedule at work a bit- but I should be able to make it happen.
