NEW FROM BRODAK - II
« on: October 03, 2006, 05:54:10 AM »
I get a lot of calls from people requesting information regarding John's products. While I can often help on technical issues, things like price and delivery dates must be obtained from Brodak Manufacturing.

One thing that must be kept in mind. Since many products are made offshore, schedules can be compromised - John can only give an expected delivery date. He can neither predict nor control the outcome. Patience is necessary but always rewarded with fine products.

OK - here is some preliminary delivery info.

Yak-9 and P-51 kits. January, 07  j1

All American. Late winter/early spring 07  :)

ARF Electric Super Clown, ARF Strega, NEW Baby Clown, .25 and .40 engines. In time for Christmas.  j1 j1

Spinners. Many are now in stock. Call or e-mail Brodak Mfg with your needs. (By the way, I saw some of the new production spinners - they are outstanding!!)  :)

John is adding a 1" spinner. I will evaluate the prototype as soon as it arrives. y1

Brodak .60  Since the .25 and .40 are in production, this project will be delayed. But, we can anticipate a light, ball-bearing, baffle piston, side exhaust, AAC engine that might just run like one that was once made in Italy. ;) ;) ;)

If you need more info, feel free to contact me - If I cannot help, I'll try and find answers for you.

Bob Z.

Bob,

Thank you for the updates on the ETA's.

Is the Strega ARF set up for a RE with pipe? Or will it take a lot of mods to fit one in? What is the est. weight range with a  .60?  TIA

BTW, I am VERY happy with Brodaks products and service. Thanks for all your hard work, we all benefit from your knowledge and skills. :-)

Hi, Rudy - nice to hear from you.

As far as I know, the Strega is based on the original version and therefore not incorporating a pipe setup. I think it will have a formed fiberglass shell type cowl that will permit the end user to make any needed exhaust cutouts.

However, I would estimate that with a few hours of work, the required modifications could be made. A pipe tunnel could be created or, the pipe could simply be suspended from underneath, totally exposed.

As I recall, the original prototype was in the neighborhood of 60 ounces RTF but, please don't hold me to that as some modifications were made by others.

Hope this helps,
Bob Z.

Thanks for the ans. Bob. If it is around 60 oz. (65 oz. TOW) then it may be a good candidate for an elec. conversion. Will and I are trying to get a strong Elec. power set up for this size/wt. plane.

It might be easier for me to convert to elec. than installing a pipe system. ;-)

Thanks again for the help.

If anyone needs to contact me regarding the possibility of a Brodak .60 becoming available, hand written letters are not the answer.  n1

If there is an issue or concern, a personal phone call would be just the ticket. y1
