Title: New Field in NW
Post by: FLOYD CARTER on May 03, 2013, 12:17:18 PM
We C/L flyers in the NW have a new field at the Evergreen Aviation Museum site in McMinnville, Oregon. The old site was used for a new building, but the owners have developed a new field at the same venue.

Check www.flyinglines.org for more information and photos.

Mark.  I think you live closer to McMinnville than I.  You should benefit even more than I could.  Of course, I have an excellent field here in Eugene, even though its future in now in question.

When contests are scheduled at the new McMinnville field, I'll attend every time!  See you there.

Floyd, Mark is from Pullman Washington, where the men are men and the sheep are very nervous.  You're a lot closer to that field than he is.

Yeah,, let me think,, Auburn, Puyallup,, 5.5 hours
Portland 5.5 to 6 hours,
Salem 6.5 hours
Eugene,, closer to 7 hours
Mcminnville ( with no traffic) 6.5 hours,

pretty sure they are all a long haul,, now Pasco is only two hours,, that used to be my "home field"
I just love the venue with the museum , and all the memories we built at contests there,, not the least of which was a couple old guys sporting grass skirts,,
and the food
and the real airplanes
and the oak grove,,
its a fantastic venue, hope future contests are even close to the same atmosphere,,

Same here. I'd love to go to a contest in McMinnville again. I miss the site.

Looks like the guys are very lucky to have an organization that will provide a new site.   Myself I have a site in Topeka KS that is good or better than the old Gage park site.   Only a 70 mile drive to fly.   15 minutes to Shawnee Mission Park circle which is barely adequate.
