New AMA site
« on: August 01, 2018, 03:47:18 PM »
Am I too stupid to log on to the new AMA site?
Seems to me that they didn't do a lot of testing?

The email I got says you have to reset your password. Enter your email address, click "forgot password" and you will get a link in the mail to reset your password. I haven't done it yet though.
   Type at you later,

Absolute  waste of time trying to sign in. The password reset wont even respond. I get a message that says a link for password reset is being emailed to me, but I never get the email. I sent message to the "help" desk, and got back some canned message that they still working to resolve their issues!

Even though I haven't tried the new site, I got an E-Mail stating that yes they are having problems but are working on them.   Maybe they should have hired our PAMPA crew. H^^

I got in after resetting my password. It took them several hours to send me the email, but I got it. Then I tried to navigate and I couldn't find the contests calendar. Next I tried to find a club based on my zipcode. Not even close, I'm in Illinois, they showed clubs near me in Colorado and South.

What could AMA HQ possibly tell me that I don't already know?  If they're promoting more drones, or tooting their own horn, hey, I get enough of that in their magazine.

I know there are several that fully still support the AMA for various reasons and many that have to, just to be legal to compete

BUT I bailed a few years back...no local club, no local flying field, no interest in competition, Magazine had less and less of interest to me... my flying risk did not really need the insurance

Funny thing is... Not Renewing ....I now get MORE e-mail than when I was a card carrying member

If I want to support our World Fai Team I can do it directly from Stunt Hanger
If I want to support PAMPA I can do it through my membership there

IF AMA ever changes leadership and focus BACK to Aero-Modeling...I will come back and support....but from my POV they are are on a very destructive track, that I can not and will not support

I'd have to crawl into the recycling bin to get my last issue. I checked to see if Bubba had his column in it, and he didn't. I also checked through some other stuff...how to use silkspan fer God's sake. Wow, what a revolutionary article, when the only useful silkspan you can only buy the medical exam table covers. Maybe they'll do an article next month on how to cover with polyspan?   D>K Steve

Less than 10 minutes and I was done.  Been a member since 1956.  Yes AMA has its faults but we let it happen. S?P
