Here is a picture of Buddy Wieder's new "Ryan's Eagle" (Electric) The airplane is impeccable.
Bob Hunt has rebuilt the Crossfire Extreme that was damaged by a dust devil at last year's Nats. He made internal repairs and refinished it in Patriotic colors. This is a big departure for Bob. Since there are 2 Crossfires finished By Chris Cox and Alan Ressinger, both in Canadian colors, Bob felt it his duty to be Patriotic.
Bob also told me to have no fear, he still has plenty of Copper, Bronze and Metalic Brown paint in stock. (Oh No!)
I will not show a picture of the Patriotic Crossfire Extreme so that he can show it first at the Nats.
Does anyone else have pictures of new Nats airplanes?

Pretty. Too bad it's electric. End of an era.....
-
Wow, what a really nice job Buddy has done. I'm sure he's proud of it. Good luck Buddy!
-
Great looking model and it looks like an extremely nice build as well. Best of luck with it. Sorry, but I'll have to bite my lip on the power choice. :(

Either that, or the 55 gallon drum of brown paint finally ran out.

Brett,
Like I said above:"Bob also told me to have no fear, he still has plenty of Copper, Bronze and Metalic Brown paint in stock. (Oh No!)"
Are there any other pictures of new Nats airplanes??
-
A picture of Bob's Crossfire is posted in the electric section. Beautiful job.

Now that Bob has shown his rebuilt Crossfire Extreme in the electric section under the electric twin update, here is one of his pictures. Go to the electric section to see more.
Again, can someone show us more pictures of new Nats airplanes. Richard? Mike Palco? Howard? Allen B.?....???
-
Its only a week away - hopefully we will get more photos as they surface.
New Eagle looks great.

Tom,
I hope to attend the Nationals in 2013 with a new airplane. Dan Banjock plans to have a new airplane done for next year as well. Since Dan's main ship is only awarded 10 or so appearance points he has volunteered to judge this year. I look forward to seeing the pictures added to this thread or the update threads throughout the week.
Buddy Wieder's "Ryan's Angel" gets better every year.

I agree with Mike, guess we are old-timers, for sure! %^@

Yeah, just wait till you see my new "Secret Weapon".......

Here's mine. I know of at least two more from the Northwest, electric, that is. ;)

Nice shots of Buddy's Ryan's Eagle and Bob's Crossfire.

Some of us are not familiar with smoke and are just not interested in trying to load it back into the wires. LL~ Steve

Very nice work by Buddy, Bob and Mike.
I could care less which power system they have provided that each runs perfectly.
The main difference between them is that Mikes Sultan looks like a control line stunt plane and the reason is simple.
Clear canopies and little pilots make it real!
Best of luck to each of these worthy competitors.

Tom
You should move this over to the Electric section where there are people who will actually appreciate the hard work that goes into building a good performing electric model airplane. y1 My complements to the builder, it is a beautiful airplane.

No need for that. All three planes are works of art and should stay here in the main forum for everyone to see.

In the very first picture I can see that Buddy's plane is polished beautifully. He should do well at appearance judging.
Good job Buddy!!!!

What Derek said.
All three are excellent examples and should be viewed by the masses!

And the pipes over to the pipe section, and the Fox .35's..........
W.
These are all spectacular model airplanes demonstrating spectacular technologies.
-
I think a special golf clap is in order for Bob Hunt..
That is actually a complete refinish from his 2011 Cross fire stripped back to back wood and repaired. GREAT WORK

If we don't all go to separate corners and divide into warring camps, how will I know who and what to hate?
Brett

I know I posted this a while back but this is my new Nats plane.
-
" how will I know who and what to hate? - Brett "
Come now Brett - there will always be people telling us who and what to hate... there are plenty here.

I think a big "Good job!" should also go to Mike for the transport box! That's an extension of skill, attention to detail, and craftsmanship that shouldn't be overlooked!
Super job on both the plane AND the box!!!!!! y1 y1 #^ #^

Oh, please! We in the NW have grown so tired of seeing Mike's workmanship. Although today is so much better than yesterday when all of us many times got a very revealing look at his fine, fine craftsmanship. You know, spread out all over a patch of asphalt in a bajillion pieces...
Please tell Mike all of us are wishing him the best. He's a great guy, even if a bit quiet, and much admired out here in the hinterland for any number of reasons.

Hey, I'm rooting for Mike. As Dan noted, he is really a good guy (for a machinist ;D ).
The emoticon is just for Dan.
