Title: New Age Flying Clown
Post by: Warren Leadbeatter on May 13, 2007, 11:50:28 PM
Here's a newy ready for the kids to fly.  Engine is a LEO .15 schnerle port ball bearing engine with a JEN venturi.  I  added a few riblets to improve the aerofoil. Tank is 1 1/2 oz home made Aldrich style. Covering is flouro solarfilm.  (Time to start thinking about the next project, Ringmaster).

Looks Great Warren!!! Let us know how it flys.

As for the Leo engine, I hope you have better luck then my flying buddy had with his. He could not keep it running. New plugs, new fuel.... nothing helped. I think he was about ready to hurl it. Oh wait that is the Fox hurl. LL~

If the Leo engine is no good I have the following choices to fall back on: Fox 15X,  OS FP 15, TAIPAN 15.  I'm sure I will get it going good with one of them. LOL But I see no reason why there would be a problem with the LEO. It all looks pretty good to me.

I have two LEO .37s.  I am told they are really .34. (??)  But, nevertheless, I have used one and it is pretty strong, and runs a fantastic 4-2!  Don't have a clue if they are stock or not.  Bought them new from Big Country Joe, and Scott Riese put the venturis, etc., on them.  I rate it with the Magnum XL square head but with a 4-2, not the wet 2.  It hauled a porky RD-1 with authority!

BTW: Nice looking ship there, Warren!
