New addition Control line Craftsman
« on: October 06, 2014, 02:11:02 PM »
I have only been working on this a few days but it is up and running. http://www.clcraftsman.com/

Get in on the ground floor in this new type of magazine. I will be adding things daily. Fred Cornenwet has taken on the scale section and if you would like do do a article or a video let me know and I will give you the particulars. I am sure this new venue will be a good thing for learning. Join the VIP insiders by clicking the learn to build button on the front page or register as a non VIP. I will be posting some free content but to get everything out of this new site you will need to be a paid subscriber.

Updates daily
full access to downloads and more.

The first build project is a Classic legal Continental by Tom Warden. From scratch. After looking at the plans and compairing it to the magazine article from 1971 and my memory of building at least 10 of these in my life the plans are incorrect as in the moments. Larry has them drawn and the fuse is only 40 inches long and in the article it says its 43. Even after cutting 1 inch off the nose. So I will be correcting that dimension and the wings span on the plans is 54.5 and I think I remember it being 56.5. I'm not sure how it got lost in translation. But if Bob Whitley reads this could you please give me the actual numbers as I would like mine to be as close to the original as possible.

The first video of this series is up on control line craftsman and you will need to be a VIP Insider to see how I did it.

Sign up here http://www.clcraftsman.com/membership-account/   To subscribe click the Become a VIP Subscriber button and follow the links. The cost to become a VIP is a one time fee of $14.95 then the small charge of 4.95 per month.I have just added comments to VIP members on this build so you can ask a question there without send a email.

There is a Free subscription as well. I work hard to bring you all this venue. Please support your site by at least registering for a FREE account. But once you find out how much you will get there I am sure you will become a VIP. I will be doing some PDF downloadable plans as well. If you are the copyright owner of a drawing and would like to sell those plans let me know and we can work something out on a pay per download basis.

Just registered. I'm curious how you build so fast, or should I say, how your shop is organized!
I'll probably update to VIP soon.

If you do a little bit every day it will get done, or you can do it tomorrow.

I can enjoy watching a Continental build . I have the wing for one & intend to go on it next Summer after I finish my current build, I figure a Stalker .51 in a Continental will be terrific.

My shop is now better organized but before I was just in a pile of wood, tools, sawdust and trash. In order to build that fast there is not much time to clean up. I cleaned a 10 year mess up and I am still not really done cleaning.

Why not a yearly subscription price?
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

I couldn't count the number of blanks you had there also no sound on this computer.   I basically do the same thing with enough blanks in the stack for the whole wing.   Then I sort them to every other rib to one stack and the others to the other.   The longer ribs are the in board panel.   Don't know how much difference it makes in the wing area, but that is my way of doing it.  Great little video.

The old school method works as good as any. If I am using 1/16 ribs I do the same thing DOC but these are 3/32 so I did them in halfs.

Well for all the new VIP insiders I need you to log in and make sure you can see all the movies on that page. Seems as I am learning the new software I had forgotten to check a few boxes. I enrolled a friend and then was talking on the phone to him and found the issue. Its all fixed and I hope you enjoy the updates.

Hello everyone!

I have updated Control Line Craftsman with pages talking about the glow and electric powered CL scale models. This shows how to use the newer 2.4 Ghz controls to our advantage.
