I posted this in the finishing thread, but here's the new ride. The refinished and rebuild Slider.

I like it! But then, I liked it before. Could you post a "before" picture, so we could have a survey? y1
Also...what is that yellow? It certainly doesn't look "lemon" and not quite "Cub". Some automotive color, I reckon? ??? Steve

I just hope it flies as good as it turned out Randy,, April isnt far away,, are you guys seeing any decent flying weather over there, I sure would love to get some flying in,, and its well,, not here,, it felt warm today at 35,, but drizzling and a bit windy and other than that, in the 20s,, Heck even Paul isnt flying

Gotta be pretty happy with that! y1

Randy, Randy, there's no cylinder head in that cowl. How could it possibly work?????

Well Randy, You've done it again. Another gorgeous airplane. What engine are you going to use in it or is it just for looking at! <= <= LL~

Hmm, the colors are, uh, sort of unusual. The base color is a mix of Insignia White and Vestal White (a sort of cream color) with some pearl and a few drops of black mixed in. The yellow was Insignia Yellow with a bit of red and a lot of pearl (looks really cool live). The orange is some Popsicle orange I had laying around and the red is just Pitts Red.
The power is E-Flite 32, CC Ice Lite 75, Hubin Timer.
I would note that they thing should track now. Replaced the bellcrank with a unit that does NOT have a shot bearing (bad design on my part) and the thing lost about a 1/2oz in the refinish. Go figure.
Two pictures. Old and busted/new hotness

Randy,
You did a great job, the model looks outstanding, colors and all.
A real improvement over the original.

he new paint job is simple, not over done and elegant! Hard to see the red in the new version. Is the Pitts red from Randolph?
-
Yes, it's the standard Randolph's color. The rest is sorta mixed by mark one eyeball.
-
That is fast looking just sitting there. Artful!

At least it'll be easy to touch up if you ever need to! :##

Hey, I have more of each color. I think I will screw with the orange if I use it again. It's a bit too much like an orange popsicle.

Good on ya Randy, but I liked fine before! I assume you lost the pipe tunnel, that was the only annoyance as far as I could see. A little hangar rash is part of life.
Now if El Nino would back off for awhile we could go fly. On second thought, we aren't in Snowmageddon part 2 like in some parts of the country.
-
Randy, I like it. Good job.

I figured so, just had to toss in a little jab. Came out great Randy, very tastefully finished as usual. y1
