I have been working on making wheel pant molds for a week now. I made 4 molds that were less than stellar. I finally figured out how to poor a usable mold. Bottom right. Tomorrow I will make the other half. By the time I have these ready my E glass and S glass will be here along with the vacuum bagging supplies.

Very hard project but it has been fun. I am hoping to have good results and I am sure I will keep at it until they are correct.

Hi Robert
My friend Brian Turner is something of an expert on moulding and is my goto person for knowledge on carbonfibre mouldings. He has given be a set of his wheel pants (see picture) that weigh just 8 grams each. If you want some pictures of his moulds I would be happy to take some.

Sharp!
Don Jenkins posted a photo of his ARF Nobler in the Photo Gallery (District 4). He's added wheel pants, and I personally think it really sets the airplane apart from the crowd - big time!

Great look! But...
Gad, how I hate those spinners with the belly button!
Just Ward-0's opinion...
Try a washer or two behind the round headed bolt to finish off the fullness of the spinner. H^^

FANTASTIC work !!

Will you be selling the gear and pants thru Stunt Hangar Hobbyshop ?
-
More than likely yes. Same with all my other stuff. As soon as I get the plastic dip I ordered and I make the arming plugs I will be posting everything I sell there. I just didn't want to do it piece meal.

Rookie here, I think those are pretty. I'd clear coat them and put them on the plane. LOL!!

The finished molds. It took several tries to make something I think will be usable but there is a pic.

I am thinking of drilling a hole by where the wheel cutout would be to allow the vacuum to be pulled into the mold. I can tell you thins ,there is more work into making a mold than building a wing. It has taken me a week to get this far.

Well young man those sure do look nice.
