Title: Neosho Mini Contest on Saturday
Post by: Elwyn Aud on October 11, 2008, 10:04:45 PM
It was a little breezy at times but Today's mini contest in Neosho,MO worked out pretty well. Here's a few pics. Notice the lines coming off the Flite Streak looking ship. Almost scary! There are a few more photos on my Webshots page.

Thanks for the pictures Elwyn.  The highlight for me was the look on young Brian's face(can't remember his last name) when I asked him to fly my version of Vince Mancowski's slow combat design.  The burgers and dogs that Terry cooked up and the food provided by the ladies.  Terry has a beautiful place for flying.  Maybe he will add Expert to the line up.  Some of them have no qualms about flying off of grass.  Hope he and the club do it again next year.  Thanks to all involved,  DOC Holliday

PS: Emmy flew the Super Flying Clown that she won at Tulsa.  The winds kept her from doing anything. jeh

Great Time!!  I think this will turn into a really nice contest...    The first effort by the Ozark Flyers was a lot of fun!!!   Terry has a beautiful place to fly and really had the grass cut and Rolled to a carpet finish.  Plus he cooks a mean burger!!   H^^  Looking forward to next year  #^ #^ #^
Thanks   H^^

A Very Specail thanks  to all the Club members and fliers who drove over to visit the first Contest. All of our members did a lot to make the event run, We had a good time.  Dock Holiday had some great planes to show and fly...( Black widow! Wow) Brought one of his grand children, She did great in the high winds. We do plan on having another event next year and will have the additional Expert class since we have two national contest judges available. ( Ken and Arlene Nash)  Jim Lee flew at the end or the day to  show us he could have beat us with a borrowed plane and high winds too! He's a goood pilot!  Great time folks! Thanks again!

I didn't know about it!!   Don't guess it made any difference though I had to be in Dallas this last weekend anyway.

Great pics! Any detail info on the red ME109? Owner? It looks like one from the old Midwest Line, maybe the 33"? What's on it for power? The red scheme is a fresh departure from the norm and looks great, I might have to bust out my 48" kit now... ;D

Yep. It was the mid sized Midwest kit with an Enya for power. Don't know if it was a 15 or 19. He didn't have any lines made up and I don't think he had ran the engine much so it didn't fly. It sure was a purty little Messerschmitt.

The plane has a Enya 15 on it but I think the NVA was not for that size engine so Ken left it with me to iron out and make the lines up for another day.  I will be a cute plane in the air.
