Title: Needle Valves
Post by: Ed on February 09, 2007, 08:26:13 AM
Greetings Gentlemen, I have been looking for a needle valve for my McCoy .35 series 21, not the red head. No luck, e-bay, or my local hobby shops in the Atlanta area they cater to high end helo's and RC cars when I mention C/L they look at me funny. I do have a great hobby shop in my town (Snellville Ga.) B&B Sales Co. an old school C/L Mom & Pop shop I just got a Brodak Galaxy from them to fit the .35, good price for the kit $40.00. still no needle valve. With my limited knowledge of aftermarket applications to OEM parts I stay lost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ed Vega.

Do you just need the needle?  I think I have one in a junk box a friend gave me.

Yes Jim; just the needle, when I got the McCoy engines one .35 and one .40 on e-bay the .35 needle was bent and the head was broken off, so I am unable to screw it all the way in so I don't know were I am on my settings it's the model that the venturi is cast with the case. I have been trying to bench test them for a few weeks with no success, I think it's a fuel issue. (see my post Ed the rookie needs help).

RSM distributers has ST NVMs for sale.  If all you want is an NVA and don't care if it's original.  The ST NVA will probably work better anyway.

Ed, almost any McCoy needle valve will work, I have a McCoy .19 rear rotor, a McCoy .36 Super Stunt, McCoy Red Head .35, and a McCoy .098 and they all have the same needle....Point being, it shouldn,t be too hard to come up with a needle from some of the many people in this forum.:-) And if worst comes to worst, Call Fox and get a needle and spraybar for a Fox .40 CL, bout eight bucks and it will get you going atleast...Phil

BTW, my sister lives  on Hidden Forrest Drive in Snellville...:-)

Howdy,

I have had good luck with needle valves from Randy Smith in McCoy 40 Redheads and other motors, it is a fist class product and various sizes are available to suit your motor.  Aero Products is right in your neck of the woods too.
My thoughts.

Best regards,
