Title: Needle valve venturis for the new Saito's
Post by: wwwarbird on February 19, 2008, 05:17:33 PM
As many are now aware, Saito has introduced three new C/L specific engines, a .72, .62 and the .56. Can anyone tell me if the C/L needle valve parts on any of these will somehow retrofit on my .30 R/C engines? The .30's that I have are the current style engine, but are actually discontinued (bummer). If not, does anyone make a C/L venturi setup that will?

BTW-Big KUDOS to Saito for introducing these engines! y1

The 30 carb is a completely different animal from the larger engine carbs, wouldn't expect anything from the larger engines to be usefull on the 30. Could be wrong, been a while since I've checked but don't think UHP has a venturi for the 30.

Bob Z has had good luck with the stock carb wired to a set position. Personally, I would make an aluminum insert for the stock carb body with a 10-32 nylon screw opposite the needle/spigot to be able to adjust the choke area and eliminate any possibility of a variable air leak.
