Guys,
I have had a bad heart attack and a stroke that has damaged my vision and I need to clear out everything I have. I could make a detailed list of everything (and will) and ship it out but if there is anyone close to the New Orleans area that could pick it all up, it would save us both money on the ridiculous shipping rates. I do have some RC RTF stuff and free flight kits as well. In the meantime, I will start making a list. The way I feel right now, it is going to be a chore to just make the list.
Thank you
Mike

Hi Mike,
I sent you a PM regarding the list you are going to be putting together.

Mike, Please consider keeping some blocks of balsa and some sandpaper. At least then, if you get stressed out, you can sand the balsa block.
Best Wishes..

I really appreciate the responses guys. I am going to try to keep what I know I can handle. A good friend called me today and he suggested maybe building some rubber powered free flight models. Sounds like fun but I dont know much about it. Someone would have to educate me on winders and rubber and accessories as I know virtually nothing about it. I am pretty sure that control line flying is out for me now.

Gig metal building bench is resting on floor joices. I still lots of stuff for local pick up if the people have caxh. D>K

I did Rusty. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I had forgotten about the ad being there as it had been a long time ago that I placed it.

Mike:
I had to do the same thing a few years ago when I lost my local C/L flying field, and all I had to fly on was a big cow-pasture full of thistles and cow-muck. I'd flown rubber as a boy, and still had some of my old plans, so I started with a British classic, the KeilKraft Achilles, a 24" span slabsider which was quick and simple to build. I had to re-learn all the trimming tricks, thrustline adjustments, Gurney flaps and so on - and soon found that even a little thing like the Achilles needed a dethermaliser! Take a look at some of Tom Hallman's 'Anatomy of a trimming session' videos on the Internet - very informative.

John

Mike, I could use some polyspan if you have any left to sell. I truly believe you will find happiness in something else. Control line is great, but there is a world of other things to do that are enjoyable. My neighbor behind me became disabled to where he could not do boating and got into nature photography. He really made something of it having pictures published in the newspaper and selling some pictures. He, in fact, enjoyed it so much he build his own dark room and developed his own film. I remember him being so depressed he had to sell his sail boat. You have a vast background, including military. Continue to march......

Mike ..... very sorry to hear of your health problems .... hang in there
I had several strokes a few years back and didn't think I'd ever build that perfect stunter or even be able to fly again ...
Something that helped me immensely was building some small freeflights that I always admired as a kid ....
a drawing board in my lap was big enough to work on ... a Dakota, a Zeek, and a Sniffer ... Something to keep the mind an hands active ...
My prayers with you ...

Thank you Frank, I really appreciate it. I had a bad heart attack in March of last year and then they discovered I had a stroke but I did not even know I had one. It showed up on a MRI that I had after losing my peripheral vision. I think I am going to try to build some free flight stuff, maybe starting out with rubber power. I think I have a sniffer kit in a box somewhere.
Thanks so much again for your well wishes and prayers.....they really do help.
