I was going through and making and inventory of my engines last night and found a new OS .20 that I would like to put on something. Any suggestions on a plane that would fly good on a .20 size engine?
Thanks

First thing that comes to mind is an ARF Flite Streak, because they are really light for their size and perform well. A Sig Skyray would also be a great candidate if you keep it nice and light. Other than those you could pick about any good 'ol .19-.25 design...

20FP or the '70's 20-s (baffle piston)?

Flite Streak for an FP20
Jr Flite Streak for the older 20.

How about the Jr. Nobler? Feno? Still's Stuka?

I had an early steel .25FP-S, completely box-stock, that used to pull a 36 oz. flapped profile own-design (span 49", area approx. 480 sq. in.) very nicely, turning a grey Graupner 9x5 on 5% nitro. From what I hear, the .20 is just about as powerful, so any smallish .35 design, built light, should fly well. If you'd like a full-fuselage classic, how about the English 'Scimitar' design by Bill Morley? Nice-looking model, originally intended for an unsilenced Veco .19, I think.

Hi Mike;
I fear it (the model, not the powerplant) may be a tad undersized, but I was going to suggest the new Brodak Cub (http://brodak.com/cub-kit.html)

Put it in a Ringmaster....follow Brett's "formula".......you'll be happy.

Brett it is a .20FP.
Mike
Mike,
Look up Bretts setup for the 20FP on the forum and do it just like that...it's a giant killer!
Enough said!

PS: I flew a Flite Streak with one of these things and it was pure magic!

Hi Randy and Peabody,
I guess I have been asleep about Brett's formula. I will sure look it up though . Thanks to everyone for their help.

Search for "BBTU" on SH and SSW. It's not really complex, but essential to follow the details to the letter. Some just can't do that, it seems, and want to use a Fox glowplug or something silly. D>K Steve

Jr Nobler?!!! WAY too small for a 20FP. It flies fine with a Medallion or Sportsman 15. A regular Nobler is closer to right.
Jim flew the "RSM box-cover art" Feno on the 20FP and power certainly was not lacking. Larry Fernandez had a Still Stuka with a 20FP, and it flew well.
