Need some help at Brodak's Fly-In
« on: May 30, 2008, 09:37:19 AM »
Because of some unforeseen problems the gentleman that was to take my Navy Carrier plane and support equipment to the Brodak Flyin has had to cancel his trip there. Right now my entry in Beginner PA is awaiting me in Carmichaels for final assembly. I have sent ahead the ARF that I plan to fly along with lines, handle engine and tank, but I have no way of getting fuel, fuel syringe and starting batteries there in time. I will be in the area late on Friday with attendance at Brodaks on Saturday morning before the event starts on Monday. May I impose on someone to help me out with fuel, starting  battery etc.  I will be making final assembly on the ARF at either my motel or in John's shop with hopefully a test flight on Sunday. As I will not have any carrier plane there i will have to scratch my entry in that event. I am willing to reimburse anyone that can help me out. Please help.

Why not just purchase those items at John's well stocked hobby shop?

Linehart, I have already thought of that, but then i will be left with fuel and batteries that I can not take back on the airplane when I leave for WA State. n1 I already plan on giving the ARF away to someone that might like it, a kid perhaps. If all else fails I of course will buy what I need and then try to deal with it after I use it. y1

Neal, Thanks for the invitation. However I more than likely will be counting laps, timing and doing the pull testing as I did last year for both racing events. If not, and you really cant find a younger better flyer I could give it a try with the priviso that you understand I am not a very good racing pilot. n1

Joe the events don't start until Tuesday. I'll be there Monday evening along with Tools and his clan. Find us. We usually set up with Brad and Lloyd at the start of tent city there at the corner of the drive. We'll have fuel and a battery for you. Besides we never got to jaw about the Battle of Gettysburg.
See you there.

This is what has really kept me in the model airplane family.  When I was much younger there was always someone to help out with something you needed as long as it wasn't an airplane(except for combat).  Yes I have seen and been offered planes for combat.  If it wasn't for working on my new kit I would be there.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday
