Title: Need some help........ Anybody?
Post by: Bill Little on February 25, 2014, 04:49:55 PM
Hi All,

I need help locating a "part" of an instruction sheet.

The Goldberg Profiles like the Cosmic Wind, Shoestring, and Buster  Had in the lower right corner several "Customizing Tips".  Things such as wheels spats, aluminum LG, leather fillets, etc..

I need the lower right portion of the Cosmic Wind/Little Toni instructions.  (I do not have a working printer at this time)  I will be happy to reimburse any costs.

Thanks!

Bill, this is from the Shoestring Plan.

Hi Dennis,

That is the information, but I need it for the Cosmic Wind.  The parts were different with each model.

Thanks!

Thanks Bill & Dennis

How slow am I? Why didn't I think of this before?  Picture probably shows a rubber band for shock absorption.  I never before considered  using an R/C shock absorbing nose gear on a single gear C/L plane.  I want to do it because I have never done it nor seen it done that way.  Perhaps it will be great, perhaps it will be terrible. Soooooooo, guess how I will finish the gear on my FliteStreak.  I certainly have enough of them laying around.

Thanks

Hi John.

The kit had a two wheel gear as normal.  There were (2) 1/4" dowels through the fuselage,  one where shone for the single wheel and one about 1" to the rear.  The rear one was supposed to keep the wheels from going through the wing if the rubber band broke.

I have never had any success with the single wheel Flite Streak gear.  I would imagine that it is designed to work on hard surfaces because he will function well off grass.

I have used the rubber band shock gear on Busters, Cosmic Winds, Ringmasters, etc., and they all worked perfectly! H^^

I've never seen any reason for two wheels on a Flitestreak.  They grease takeoffs and landings, better on hard surface, but no problem in grass.

Love the single wheel, sky rays and flite steaks look funny with 2 wheels.

DITTO!
Just in case nobody looked closely, the 'Customized' pic I posted earlier IS from the C.G. Cosmic Wind plans.

Hi Big Brother Bear,
In the last half of the 60's, four of us had a combat series going for each summer, kept score the whole season, and the top points guy got a gallon of fuel from the other three at the end of the season.  The rules?  Goldberg profiles, ONLY, plain bearing 35, 60 foot lines, and 10% fuel.  It was amazing how evenly matched the flying was!  What a blast we had for several years with those models.  They were great flyers.
