Does anyone know if Reading Pa club " Flying Dutchman" is still active? YouTube has some videos posted from a few years ago. I might be visiting in the area and possibly have time for some flying.

Yes, they still fly at Reading. I'm sure those who do fly there who are members here haven't seen this post. Ken

Is Dennis Lipsett (sp?) a member of this club? They fly regularly at the Reading CL field. Paved circles. Up the mountain where weird winds blow. Up from the Reading Pagoda, a construction that is notable and strange. The Philly fliers go up there once or twice a year. We always have a great time. A place to fly pulse jets and IC speed, if you are inclined. Banjok's pulse jet stunter did its maiden flights there. I have seen the venerated elders of Jet and IC speed rise from their tombs to trouble shoot and haunt... (Is that a quote from Ginsberg's Howl?)

The Flying Dutchmen are still active but at a slower rate. Bob Fryer is the person to contact Generally there is flying on the weekends starting around 1PM. There are 2 paved circles and we are on top of a mountain which can give us some strange wind patterns. As to the Pagoda it is the only one in existence on the east coast and has been a landmark of the city of Reading since 1911. The view is spectacular from the top of the building

I'll send an email with the contact info.

Except that Pennsylvania Dutch are really German with a distinct language that really isn't German.
