Hey guys, looking for more accurate info on this engine please. I bought out a guy in Florida, and this was among the stuff I got. He called it an RSM Fox .35. Definitely has a modified crank and a different ( black ) backplate, along with a slant plug hemi head. It's in real nice shape, the compression is awesome. There is some writing engraved on the bottom of the case. I'm going to end up selling it to help pay for the two cataract operations I have to have this month, and want good info on it if anyone can help. Thanks much!

That would be an L&J/Larry Foster Fox.

Is that good Brett ?

Should be very good : balanced crank, oil holes in rod, venturi bored out for ST NVA, stuffer back plate, hemi head, transfer port reduced and properly fitted P/L.
Might even be partially broken in.
Only negative is that it is an old style case with weak muffler mounting lugs.

Think they sold around $150 new when available. Check with Eric at RSM to confirm. I might be a little on the low side.

Thanks guys. Sounds like it was a nice find. If anyone wants it, PM me an offer.

BADBILL. Most MDs recommend only one cataract at a time. Pretty routine surgery, but no use taking any chances.

First one, my right eye, is this Tuesday the 8th. Left eye scheduled for the 29th.

It appears you don't have the instruction sheet. The engine builder (Larry Foster) is a good pal of mine. He would recommend you run with about 25-28% oil, mostly or all castor oil. Avoid use of shaft extensions. We've seen more than one failed crankshaft due to that practice

Mine will turn an APC 10.5 X 4.5 within 250 rpm of my Brodak 40.
How much you gonna ask for it ?

FYI Bill,
I bought mine used on here for $ 125.00, one of the last ones built from a 60th anniversary engine.
I'd love to have another one,but just changed jobs, and should hang on to cash until my insurance starts.

"Jobs" is a bad word. Please refrain from using it in future posts. n1
We've got a Brad Bufkin up here, lives in Goldbar, WA area. Been wondering if you're related. Doesn't seem like a common surname. H^^ Steve
