Jason anyone tried a Vintage Performance Profile Nobler?

I have had 2.  One in 1960 when I broke the tail off a blue box and replaced it with a profile.  Another around 1963 for the same reason.  Both flew fine with my trusty Fox 35 but my skills at 13-16 were not what they are now.(Neither are my reflexes LL~)   Learned most of the pattern on the 1st one.  The vertical lazy eight and that thing at the end came later.

While I'm not a big fan of folks flying "Profile Noblers" in Classic (because there is no known evidence that anybody actually flew one prior to 1970), I strongly suspect that Jason is Stan's son. Stan makes laser cut CL kits of various designs, and is active on a couple of facebook pages. Stan is also a Sprint Car builder kinda guy, so that's good. He doesn't know Jerry Day, however, which is a shocker to me.  y1 Steve

They don't have to be published by some known name, just designed or built.  Since I had 2 before 1964 I would not hesitate to enter one in profile and classic.  We didn't have digital camera's on everything back then.  I would venture a guess that a lot of the old timers here have had a profile Nobler at some point.

I have flown a profile Oriental in Classic. Dee Rice said they existed back then.
Unless I am mistaken, the Nobler in question has a straight leading edge which I would assume would keep it from being allowed in Classic.

No, they don't have to be published at all, either plans or pictures. But the point is that nobody had ever even said they had a Profile Nobler based on the plans or kit, and/or provided a picture of it that was from prior to 1970. Yes, it's logical to assume that it was done, but there has been zero documentation of that (to date). It could also be claimed that somebody built an Impact before 1970, but nobody has provided any evidence of that! If you can provide a picture of a profile built around remains of any of the three or four classic legit Noblers, then you're the first that I know of. No fair if it has the wing & horizontal tail but looks like an F-86! Let's see 'em!   H^^ Steve

One has been used in Classic for years in Oregon, Washington, and NW Regionals.  Found several times in " Flying Lines."  Steve, I thought that you were ok with this.  Of course as this thread started, the one in question doesn't seem to have the proper wing.

    Top Flite Noblers came in green boxes or with green labels, hence the nick name "green box Nobler." If it was a blue box, it was a later Geiseke Nobler.
