Need help!
« on: October 19, 2006, 03:39:48 PM »
Hi Guys (and Gals??),

I need to know what Dave Brown, or Kraft Hayes, engine mount is needed for an OS 40VF?

I do not have a "local" Hobby Shop (there is a great one about an hour away, Hayes Hobby House) that I can run out to, so I am hoping that someone here has a clue.

It is for a Stunt Plane!

Thanks

Bill,
There is no listing  on the chart I have for a .40VF. There is a listing for a .46 VF which is 404 L . This is from the Dave Brown chart.
 Bearer size range is 1.265 - 1.325

Bill,
Is a VF the same crankcase as a SF?

Thanks, guys!  I no longer have a 46VF, but I'm pretty sure they mount the same.

I have never had an SF so I don't know........................

Thanks, again!

I have a 40SF sitting next to me waiting for the plane. It is the same CC as a 46SF. Might be easier to cross reference it than the VF if the hole pattern is the same. 1.75" center hole to center hole/beam to beam on the SF.  2" outside ear to ear.

Update:
Bill I just did a little research on the OS discontinued parts list and the VF does use the same Motor mount as the SF.  OS p/n 71913100. Since the SF 40 and 46 are the same size, and the VF 46 is too, then your 40 should be the same also. That be Dave Brown#4045-4045  .......glass filled

For RC I used the long version to have  a little extra room for the haeder. One of these days I'll have to build something for the 2 new 46 VF's I've got sitting around or take one out of the RC's I don't fly any more.
