Need any 1/32" Balsa?
« on: November 19, 2011, 03:01:20 PM »
I was just visiting with the owner of the other hobby shop in Oregon City, and come to find out he has a box with an enormous number of 1/32" balsa sheets.  They're almost all 3" x 36", and there's got to be over 500 of them.

So I'm spreading the word.  It's pretty good wood, but it looks like it may have been factory seconds, it's been knocked around some, and it hasn't been stored flat so some sheets are a bit warped up.  But he's just asking $0.50 per sheet (yup -- fifty cents).

He does ask that he wants to spread the joy, so please don't call if you're just going to try and resell it.

I can't think of anything to use the wood for in a CL application, but I use it for free flight planes and small RC, so I got a few sheets.

If you're interested the shop is

Quality Farm Toys & Hobbies
709 Main Street
Oregon City, OR 97045
(503) 650-8023
1-888-250-8023

No email -- he says that if someone were to point a gun at his head and tell him to log onto the computer or die, he'd say "go ahead and pull the trigger".

He's mostly a store front, but he'll ship if you're getting more than $25 worth of stuff.  He's got Peck tissue, a small assortment of Dumas and Guillow's rubber power kits, and -- of all things -- he says he just got in a shipment of Pactra dope (yes, Pactra).

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Hi Tim,

Before it all gets gone, I need to order some for my C/L stunters.  It is my size of choice for TE webbing.
