In case I missed the answer...Who were the judges on the L-Pad?
I Couldn't be there, however I got to see the Atlantis Shuttle launch. Short view because of the cloud cover, but still awesome.

Maybe they will list them in another article.  All the officials need our thanks for a week in the sun on that hot tarmac.   Now I know why I like grass. H^^

Dale   Barry
Ronnie   Farmer
Kevin   Ferrell
Bob   Gieseke
Randi   Gifford
Darrell   Harvin
Bruce   Hunt
Peter   Jackson
Roger   Ladds
Les   McDonald
Mark   Overmier
Bill   Rutherford
Steve   Smith
Kent    Tysor

Some of these folks came a long way just to judge at our Nats.  Kevin Ferrell flew here from California, Bruce Hunt from Oregon, and Peter Jackson and Roger Ladds all the way from England.  These are dedicated people.  I noticed that Randi Gifford seemed to look less sunburned as the week progressed.  She explained that that was an airbag burn.  She wrecked her car on the way to Muncie, and Darrell Harvin went to the crash site to retrieve her.  Randi rented a replacement car and went on to judge.

Thanks Howard. Wow! A group of the biggest "Heavy Hitters." What an honor and experience it must of been to fly in front of them.

Not a slacker in whole bunch!! Mark Overmier is in the same club as Bill Zimmer and was pretty much trained by Bill. Bruce Hunt lived in the St. Louis area for a while, and Steve Smith is a flying buddy of mine. I know some of the others personally, and the rest are preceded by their reputations. They all know the pattern and it would be hard to assemble a better group of judges. Dedicated isn't a good enough word. If you flew at the NATS in front of these guys, you can be pretty assured that the scores you got were what you flew. I haven't been to the NATS in a while and may have to rectify that in the future
