Title: NATs Entry for World Champs visitors
Post by: BillLee on February 14, 2024, 06:20:19 AM
This information is primarily for folks coming to the United States from away. U.S. folks will have their existing AMA membership.

AMA has a class of "membership" called "Affiliate". It provides the standard AMA insurance and membership privileges (no magazine), and to buy one costs $45.

AMA requires that anyone who participates in an AMA-sanctioned contest must be an AMA member. This is where the 'affiliate' membership comes in.

For our purposes this summer, if you are an identified member of your national team, competitor or supporter, AMA is granting a special 'affiliate' membership to you. It will be good for the duration of the U.S. CL NATs through the F2 World Championships, and only for activities on the AMA site. This provides the necessary AMA membership for your participation in the CL NATs, the World Cup, and the World Champs.

If you are entering the NATs, the online system they use will likely not work, and I have been told you should instead send an e-mail to

NATs@modelaircraft.org

Include your name, your national identity, address and, most important, your e-mail address. Then list the events you wish to enter for the NATs. There will be a cost to enter the NATs.

If you are entering the World Cup event, the registration is via the World Cup website at

https://2024USAWorldCup.org (https://2024USAWorldCup.org)

And, of course, if you are a member of your national team for the World Champs, your entry into the World Champs will be coming through normal registration mechanisms and your national airsports control.
