My local Free Flight mentor, Don Deloach, turned me on to Callie Graphics for applying AMA numbers to FF models. I think I got 20 sets of my numbers for 20 bucks. The fact that FFers are using them piqued my interest because of the weight factor. 2" letters are negligible on weight, even on a 12g catapult glider. I use such big numbers in chrome to help visibility when searching for models in the field.
I used her graphics for the T-6 as mentioned before. I bought 3 sets. Concerned about weight, and recalling an issue that Dad had with vinyl graphics **grin** I took one set, peeled off the backing, wadded into a ball and put on the scale. They only added up to about .4oz. They took clear dope pretty well provided the first couple coats are dusted on good and light. Spraying clear over them in between clear coats on the rest of the model help hide the edges.
I sent her a set of Sig Magnum decals for reduction when I built my Midget Magnum/Vector 40. I wanted to add the "NX" prefix to my AMA numbers to keep with the Magnum box art. I think I beat my head on my computer screen for 2 days trying to get an X to match the rest of the lettering. I finally sent it all to Callie and she sent me my decals with the NX prefix that looked pretty darn good!
She has tons of warbird schemes on file, and will do pretty much any decal or graphic as long as you send her a good file and have a precise idea on the size. A lot of her customers post their finished models on her facebook page and they all turn out really nice. Prices are very reasonable, and Callie is an overall cool lady and very easy to work with!
She lives with her husband in a really remote part of New Mexico. They run the whole business off of a V-Sat satellite internet connection and that's pretty much it. No phone, cable TV, or hardline internet. Some folks have all the luck...
