A while back, I posted a picture of the coffee table I made from a Lycoming O-235 engine.
After using it a few times, I decided that it wasn't practical so I redesigned it, making it two-tiered.
I used the original glass top on the upper tier and had a new larger one made for the lower tier.
I used the spinner from business jet engine (Garret, I believe).
Came out quite well.

Doesn't the 152 use that engine?

I still think it is Overpowered <=

Now that right there is COOL....I don't care who you are!

You're damn right that's cool! And it will hold one heck of a big cup of coffee! I have an engine cylinder from the Continental radial that Stearmen PT-17's used ( I can't remember the designation right off hand) and want to make a lamp out of it. I need some valve covers to sort of dress it up but haven't had much luck finding any . If anyone knows of any valve covers for this engine, I could use 4 (two for a friend of mine's cylinder.) They don't have to be perfect, and I can do any welding or machine work that they may need to be presentable for a table lamp!
Type at you later,

Not anymore, it's in Robert's living room.

That really is cool looking...
-
Are the guts removed to lighten it up a bit? Way cool! #^

Yes, John - all the innards are removed.
I fabricated a short hollow steel shaft, thrust bushing and flange that rides in the original two front mains.
The entire table tops can easily be turned like a big lazy Susan.

What was it about the original design that did not work, too short?

You beat me to it.
