Hi Richard;
It weighs a little under 50 ounces. The originale Charles Parrott weighed I think around 42-44. The changes I made by sheeting the wings,stab,rudder,stabilizer and elevator along with using glass cloth brought up the weight quit a bit. I was hoping to come close to the originale weight by molding the fuselage instead of carving it. I think that I got a bad can of silver dope because when I opened the second can it had much more pigment in it. That first can took alot of coats to get good coverage. If I had opened the second can first I'm sure that I could have cut down the amount of dope I used thus cutting the weight some. My intent was not to build light but to build something nice looking and fly decent. I love to build but I'm not much of a pilot, at least not yet. Like I had said, this plane was a test bed for doing some things that I had never done before in regards to building techniques.I found out some intresting things and some techniques that I like very much along with building a plane that since childhood have always loved. I'm sure it will be a decent flyer and that is a bonus for me.
