Just awesome, Dwayne!

Just love the "sandpaper" anti-slip wing walkways for pilot entry, etc.

Only retrofit I dare you to do is to cut out a couple of foot steps in the flaps so the pilot can get up to wing level.  I know!  I know!  That would mean repainting the flaps--but what else do you got to...oh, wait... Were you going to fly that thing???  Do you have any idea what can happen when one does that????

Spectacular piece of craftsmanship.  Congratulations.

I'm flattered by all of your feed back gentlemen. Honestly I direct all praise to Windy and Joe Adamusko. It's their design, I just did the labour. I'm sure Joe adamusko will especially be happy to see it's done, after answering my 20 emails!

When I see aircraft such as this one, the first thing that comes to mind is to get rid of the  current 20 point Concours award and go back to what was it, 40 Point system ?

Hi Kevin,

Anything I could or would say would only echo all the well deserved praise that you have already received.

I can only ask where your post says.. "Just needs a final polish and coat of wax."

So I will ask,  where?  I think you should somehow tone the shine down a little, it's reflecting off
the shine on my far head and monitor screen.  ;) ;)
Thank you and God Bless

Hi @ builditright. I think the quote was taken from the last post on my lengthy paint and graphics thread in the vendors corner, (CFC) entitled 'Time to Finish the Spitfire'. Or Taken from a quote in the video's description.  Lol @ 'tone down the shine a little'. 😁   Cheers. Kevin.

Not to try to put a cat in the pigeons , but tennis racket handle tape , or pushbike handlebar cloth tape , around the hand grip , would get it nice and grippy .
Once took a tub of fine sawdust to the field . The differance from them oily hand grip to the handle adhearing to the palm , was stupendous .
Or ripping a strip of T shirt & wrapping the hand grip tight, and knotting , gets a firm hand hold . AND' would protect the gnatty paintwork .

Your Spitfire looks great!  How did you go about doing the shark's mouth?  It looks like it would be a challenge, but came out really nice.

@ Scott. Whatever is the longest hardest way possible is the way I usually do things. Painting of the shark's mouth step by step starts on the bottom of page 2 https://stunthanger.com/smf/cfc-graphics/time-to-finish-the-spitfire/50/ Kevin.

Kevin: thanks for the reference to your building thread.  Somehow I missed it before.  You had a picture of your inked canopy using white ink to outline a little access hatch.  What brand of white ink did you use?  I've had trouble finding one that flowed well in my Rapidograph pens and was still opaque.

Thanks!

Scott, I just used the Waterproof Higgins White Drawing Ink No.4265. After sealing the first inkline I went over it again with the pen. You could even add a third if you really want a bright white. Also, I think I used a .060 pen. Or a 35, I can't remember.
