My New Ride! Stuka Tank Buster Finished!
« on: September 30, 2017, 06:00:36 PM »
Well, this model won't come as a surprise because I did do a thorough build from beginning right to detailing and paint.

But, first time the model was photographed off my bench.

What a difference!

I'll have more photos when I reduce the size. I shoot at 300dpi's, SH takes 72dpi's.

I hope my Stuka Tank Buster is well received.

Guys, Thank you for the favorable comments, it's appreciated.

Looks great, what was the final weight, looks like its powered by a .46?

Don

Don,

Yes, that's a NIB OS LA 46 in the nose. Scott Reise muffler. If anyone wants a beautifully made polished aluminum muffler here's Scott's contact info. reise5080@comcast.net. Please tell Scott I sent Ya!

Weight?

I really paid little, but some, attention to weight as I progressed with the model's development.

Because I don't build models destined for competition, weight isn't on my mind from start to finish.

Ready to fly as you see it the model weighs 3 lbs 8 ounces. And this is the absolute true weight.

I have this thing about reporting weight honestly.

Thanks for the reply and interest.

Charles

P.S. A few more photos. I always take a bunch.

All I can say is you have a lot more patience than I do when it comes to detail work.   Maybe I should build and let you do detail work.  Then I would fly the plane.

Beautiful job and a good weight.  But without the gull wing it does look a lot like an Ilyushin I-10 in captured camoflage

Thatīs absolutely gorgeous Charles! Amazing indeed,  knowing your craftsmanship i would expect no less, but this time you made a step further!
i love the Stuka, and the chosen camouflage is one of my faves!
too bad you donīt care for scale competition, would be a contender!
flawless work, and well executed weathering!
whatīs next? i still have to go back to the MIG, but you know, life enters the scene all the time...

Fred,

It's always a pleasure to read your kind replies. Thank you.

Correct, I have no interest in scale competition. Or competition for that matter.

Keep in mind, photos always bring out the best.

Next? I'll continue with Pushy Galore. I have the fuselage half completed and I'm working on the foam wings.

I thought about changing it to Electric because of spent fuel getting all over the prop. I'm still thinking about that.

Your MIG? Will you start back on it soon? Warbirds are great!

Thanks for the kind reply and stay in touch.

Roger "Dodger"

I generally don't let others fly my models. that was R/C. I have people I trust in CL. I'm also quite capable of flying anything I've built.

You really think my models are "gorgeous?" Wow, that's super, thank you.  #^

I don't go overboard, I just strive for a good looking model, say, from 15 to 20 feet.

I might try to sell some of these, reason I'm not quick to fly any.

Thanks for the reply.

Dan,

I'm not photogenic. Honestly. Besides, I'm the only one at the field that takes photos, everyone else practices for competition. I hope to be at the field Saturday for the Fly-a-Thon.

Maybe.

Gene,

Thanks for the kind reply.

It's not bad looking, I'm happy with it. Only thing is it's a Stuka and they aren't really great looking aircraft to begin with.

The fuselage has almost scale outlines. Nose is a tad longer.

I might sell it.

Randy,

Thanks for the kind words and the reply.

It's not Ringmaster Imperial based although I can see where that could be a possibility. The wing correct?

I designed this Stuka in my drawing program. I brought in a full color profile and traced the outline.

I'm really glad this one is completed, paint was time consuming.

Thanks again for the reply.

Charles, you have built another beauty. We will need to hook up, once my madness of life lately settles down and I can find some hours in my slush fund we can get together even if it is for some coffee, beer or small talk if not getting out to the field. This saturday I have a wedding to go to not to mention a whole ton of unpacking.

Peter,

I just saw your reply. I don't look at my Threads often, I have so many of them and it takes up a good deal of time.

The Stuka looks really good, I'm happy with the final results and the overall weight. Should be a good performer.

Yes, we have to get togeher, when you're settled.

Sunday there's a really big R/C Flea Market in Ft. Lauderdale. I plan on bringing the last, but the best, of my remaining R/C stuff.

Let someone else carry the torch and I can pick up a few bucks.

Will you be free Sunday?

Stay in touch.
