My new plane - Just for FUN!!!
« on: November 12, 2009, 09:42:28 AM »
I tinkered this together in the last two weeks.
27 ounces as shown, powered by a SAITO 30.
Wingspan 47, OAL 33.

The design was influenced by three very important people:  #^ #^

                      Dennis Adamison
                      Walt Musciano
                      Dale Kirn

Can anybody guess who influenced what??  :! :!

If it flies as well as the "Cardinette" it will be another winner.

Hey Z-man!  Don;t know how i missed this post.  Looks like another GREAT looking bird!  H^^ CLP**

Looks like you locked your Stunt Rocket, Stinger and Argus all in the same deep dark closet - A great looking mix of this and that!  Its dying for transparent covering too...

...and THANKS for the shout-out, am sure I have NEVER been mentioned in the same sentence with Dale & Walt... 010! AP^

Hey, Dennis - How's it feel to be one of THREE legends!!!!???

Actually, the v-tail was influenced by the plane you flew at Brodaks - I just didn't know the name if it.

I had to go back and look at again.  It is intriging.  You must be getting good as I see no lead out adjustment or my are worse than I thought.  Now where's my plans?

Hi, John/Doc
They are indeed adjustable but a bit tough to see in the earlier photos. Adjustment is accomplished by moving the eyelets.
Check out the tip weight box. It's a 1/2 inch brass tube, 1 1/4 inches long, closed at one end and fitted with a screw-on cap on the wingtip.
Just unscrew the cap, add or remove lead shot, replace the cap.

Make sense?

My cousin had a Sterling Yak 9 that had a wing resembling that V-tail.  It was so oil soaked that it flapped like a bird during maneuvers.  He drove some hoochie-mama woodscrews through the broken pieces to hold it together.  It was covered with silk and absolutely would not die.
