Title: My new plane
Post by: RC Storick on February 13, 2013, 11:56:01 PM
My electric stunt ship is about ready for paint. I will do a follow up in the painting section. total weight before color is 56 OZ. I am afraid it wont be a dazzling finish with only 4 OZ to do it in. But I did get to thinking that this plane is full of fuel so even if I came in at 62 OZ it would be a comparable plane to 54 OZ. I never really thought about it until I started this type program.

Hey Sparky,

How does your battery hold-down work? Do you take out the two cap head bolts to remove the battery?

Just curious, it looks like your ship is coming along very well.

Thanks
Chris

Robert, with your ability constructing built-up planes do you think it was the foam wing that brought you a higher than predicted weight?

Paint is what weighs. This plane even if I add 6 OZ from here would only be 62. I am thinking of another grey plane to save the weight.

Mr Sparky builds some great stuff but what the hell is the "Cresent" wrench doing there?

That's a precision measuring device.

With that hard hold-down on the battery, aren't you worried about "electron foaming"?
