Scale at brodaks
« on: May 26, 2008, 08:37:10 AM »
"Due to difficulties, scale at the Brodak Fly In will become a "Fly In" with no static or flight judging. All scale flyers are encouraged to come and fly their models on the assigned days. This allows a broad range of exchange of information, trimming sessions, preparation for upcoming contests and a more relaxed two days of time with other modelers.

Flyers are asked to help each other become better scale builders and pilots with this venture. Your time on the upper circle will be dedicated, as scheduled, to scale only. Our desire is to continue with the scale competition at the 2009 Fly In. If you can help with any scale ventures in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania, please contact Tom Hampshire or Allen Brickhaus. I plan to post this on one forum and Tom, Richard and John will help with other websites."

Cancelling an entire catagory with less than two weeks notice in 2008 is not an effective way to instill faith so people will build models and make travel plans for 2009.

Here's an idea, why don't you CD a scale contest on the same day in 2009 and see how many come to your event. There will be a bunch of us at Brodak's that will miss you.

Thanks for the Info Tom. I think two weeks is plenty of time.

Paul, have you noticed how your posts seem to run pessimistic or negative, perhaps some happy juice will make your life more enjoyable?
really, at least they are still welcoming people. Knowing what I know and have heard from people who know This event, there is undoubtably a very good reason why they are making this move, a VERY good reason.
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!
