My New CL Scale model First Flight video
« on: May 06, 2011, 07:26:17 PM »
Frank Caelisle posted the video jack Sheeks took using my camera of the first flight on my Jeannin Stahltaube.  The model is 88 In WS, 1500 Sq. In. WA and weighs 9 1/4 Lbs.  I am flying on 65 Ft. lines measured AC C/L to Handle.

Throttle, Wing Warp and Rudders are controlled by my U/Tronics Control 4 channel system.  This allows me to adjust the Wings level and line tension in flight.  Is that cheating?  LOL

Clancy,

I still think that is the coolest model.  Wish I could see it fly in person.

A far cry from a Junk Yard design, isn't it?

Clancy,
That is just too cool. You need to get a video of the flaps and elevators in action.

Wish I could see it up close.

The next time I have it assembled I will get some video of the control surfaces moving.

The trailing edge of the elevator will move 3 inches with the full range of the bellcrank.  I had the handle, adjustable hardpoint, setup for about 1 1/2 inch of elevator travel which felt just right.  If I got into a problem I could reach up and pull on the line for more control if needed.
