Big Art Turns 90

Posting this for friends of Big Art.  Last night we had his 90th Birthday party - we actually managed to make it a surprise.  Lots of family & friends, but here's just a couple with kids, grandkids & great-grandkids...

He's moving kinda slow but still feisty as ever.  He enjoys hearing from folks - if you have a minute drop him a line.  He has a new email addy:

  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG ART!  One of my most cherished moments in the hobby was meeting you and the wife on my first trip to VSC way back in 1992 I think it was, might have been earlier. I hope you continue on in good health for many more!

Big Art was one of the fairest judges I ever was up against.  After my flights, he would take the time to critique my model and offer suggestions to improve my pattern.  He was a true sportsman and a great representative of the hobby.  The whole family is top notch people.  I always enjoyed watching Dennis fly his Magister.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of the very nicest and greatest men I have ever known!  It was such a pleasure when I saw Betty the last time at Huntersville.  Our conversations over those couple of days were delightful!  I cannot even remember the year it was when I first met you at the Nats, but I STILL have, and wear the hat pin!!!!!!!
