One of the other remaining flyable P-38's is looking really sharp following a lengthy rebuild  a couple of years ago. It was the P-38 flown by Lefty Gardner for decades before it suffered an in-flight fire and engine failure and his son had to crash land it in an agricultural field in Louisiana. Unfortunately it is now based in Europe so a formation shot probably isn't going to happen.
