Title: My NATS ENTRY
Post by: RC Storick on February 13, 2011, 08:26:46 AM
Well I have taken a year off and now its time to get back to work. I have 5 planes hanging on the wall I have flown in past Nationals. I want to show up with a new one. I have my average kit on the shelf. (consisting of no more than  pile of wood). I have 5 engines to choose from.

The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over expecting diffrent results. This year will be diffrent. I am designing the way "I" think it will work best.

I have just renewed my AMA membership and I am filling out my NATS entry form. As I build this new plane I will start flying when weather gets above 30. There will be no pictures until its done as I am not going through the BS of it has no pilot or its the wrong color. This one is on me. My vision and no one Else's.

I will be taking pictures along the way to post after completion. I am looking for someone with CAD experience who can loft out some fuse formers for a very diffrent (light) construction method I will be doing. Larry, Pat jump in anytime.

Hi Robert,
Any plans to document this on http://www.stunthanger.com/class/ ? I drop in occasionally but nothing seems to have moved since you 1st set it up. I was looking forwards to seeing it grow and learning from a master craftsman.  y1

"I am designing the way "I" think it will work best."

As I explained to my boss, once, (about model building/flying)  "I am the designer, builder and flyer----if it doesn't work, I know who to talk to."

Go for it, and let the dust settle where it may.

No I will have to use someother software as it has been disabled on this server. Thank the backdoor hackers. When I find a breach I cut it off at the head. Why do you suppose this site runs so smooth? I am not a software engineer and find no need to fix what works already.

Robert,
I may have blown my mind doing P-47's and FW190's lately and could use a nice break by doing your plane.  Send me an E-mail and let's talk.  Bet I can loft you ribs soon and even cut them and the formers with the laser.

I just looked into your mind and the planes absolutely the wrong color and you need to install a pilot.

Just couldn't resist! ;D

Robert,  glad to hear you are back at it.   Won't question if it is another variant of the past Vipers.  Hope that is the right name.  Hopefully I can make it to St Louis this year.  I know I have been threatening the last several years.  What with leg problems and finances.  Also I know your new plane will be a killer.   H^^

Robert,

What was that plane you designed around the .40 FP back in the day, that everyone else was using bigger engines in, if I remember correctly it was pretty nice looking and flew pretty well. Rattling your chain from Oregon.  H^^

It is really simple.

We all enjoy seeing Sparky's great building! I am sorry that we hit you too hard about pilots.. but we have to have some fun! I personally think that you color schemes are great, and your building skills are way up there. So is it OK if we beg you for some details?
