My first flight with a SV-22
« on: October 11, 2009, 05:51:39 PM »
I went and picked up my planes from Gary Hajek. One was an SV-22 with a PA 65 and a honking big prop. I checked the plane out and found things in order so I decided to put some 62' lines on it with a Kaz handle and fly. On my first flight I yelled at my wife and told her that flying the plane in a contest would be cheating since it flies so great. On the second flight with handle trimmed better and engine a little faster I went through the whole pattern and wow the plane just tracks and this was at a lap speed of yawn. So my only regret is I did not start sooner with full house stunters. These things are great.  #^

If the Cavalier and the Saturn fly anywhere close to the SV-22 I might make expert by the end of 2010.

Thanks to all for all the help.

Curits,

I haven't seen one of Gary's planes that didn't fly well.  I wished I could have grabbed a couple myself (that 7 year old you met at Paduca is trying to eat us out of house and home, wonder what the teenage years will be like LL~).

With that big a plane and engine you may want to try a couple more feet of line.

James, didn't you and your friend want the Fox and K&B glow plugs? I found them and I can ship them this week.

Curtis,
Sounds like you will not be handing this one over to anyone at a contest anytime soon. LL~

Hope to see you back next year at the MSC.

Curtis,

Both Brian and I have been using the Thunderbolt RC long plugs.

The Saturn does well on a piped PA .51. I hope your Cavalier gets an Aero Tiger .36!

You're going to have a ball!

Those are the exact engines the planes have, so all should be right in Curtis world.

Curtis,

I got Gary's old SV-11 with SuperTigre .60 and I am stoked too!  I flies better than I can!  I am flying the snot out of it and having a ball.  I think I might even give you a run with this plane.

Sorry to hear that Gary Hajak feels he cannot fly any more but I am happy I was able to purchase this plane from him.

Thanks,
