My Cow's smarter than your Cow
« on: November 16, 2010, 07:09:03 AM »
Hi Fellows,
I know how we all have problems keeping cows out of our flying circles....
Here's an easy fix I came up with....an electric fence charged by a portable four "D"cell charger.
Just make sure your lines don't touch the wire allowing your body to supercede the earth!

Years ago someone posted that some cows were watching him fly. Their heads followed the plane until he ran out of fuel, then the cows walked up to the plane and were staring down ar it.

Wish I could remember who posted that. He was quite surprised at the interest shown by the cows.

Dale,
The problem at our field ( in the middle of a park in the city) is wild hogs.

Dale,
Pull that Piped engine out of your plane and put a Fox in it without a muffler. That should run them cows out of your circle. LL~

But then that Fox might not get your plane over the top. <=

Wild Hogs are ok with me if they are all on Harley Davidsons.

That would be Nils Norling if I remember right.  Great story that as not been told for sometime.  He and his friends were very young and flying Cox PT-19s.

I know it wasn't me as I would close the barn yard gate so I could fly.  Had to stay pretty well in the center of the lot because of fence and the barn.  Also a one car garage that was put in the lot.  After landing the cows would all be lined up at the gate.   Was not enough room for the Nobler I had at the time.  Used the track field at school to fly.  H^^

It's the Longhorn's you have to watch out for. Supposedly, they don't like stuntflyers. :(

I don,t recall them fretting much about my models but the Holstiens used to go berserk when a hot air baloon or a blimp went by...

Lucky it wasn't a cellulose finish. If it was they would have been eating it.  ;D
