MVVS Engines
« on: April 14, 2006, 03:41:06 PM »
Anyone have experience with MVVS engines?  What is your opinion of them, quality, performance, etc.  I'm looking at a 40 rear Exhaust.

Thomas,

My experience with MVVS is not very broad, but every one I've seen was excellently made, looked and acted like it was built for high performance. Not particularly light.

For stunt, how far can we go with flat pitch, high RPM?

I have had several MVVs engines and all ran good. Well made and easy to run.  Decent performance for  your power needs. The only thing I did not like on my piped .40 was short prop shaft threads.  With a spinner backplate no room to tighten prop correctly.  Then you get into needless hardware.  Cheers,Dan

Thanks Tony...I had read that review on the Just Engines site before.  I do have one question about the 49??  Can the exhaust port be turned to the rear as some of the MVVS 40s can?

on the mvvs 49 the exh port can be turned to face the side or rear but it is recogmended to set this before the engine is broken in. I have two and hope to have one running in a RSM Shoestring with rear pipe setup by DEC.

I saw a MVVS 49 run at the 2004 World Championships.  Might have been more than one, but I do seem to remember a younger guy with one that ran well..
