I'm going to be moving to Wendell, NC later this year.  Wendell is about 20 miles due east of Raleigh.  I fly both RC and CL and would like to find a club/s that do either or both.  Thanks for your help. H^^ H^^ H^^

Hi Sam,

I live about 1 hour due South of Raleigh on US-1, my "flying son" (Aaron) is about 25-30 min. South in Sanford, and my youngest son is about to be a Police Officer in Raleigh.  ;D

There is a C/L club in Raleigh but I am not sure about how active they are right now.  Joe Owen, Bill Jedlica, and a few other guys, live in the Raleigh/Apex/Cary area.

Sam,

Welcome to NC.  I'm in Fayetteville which is about an hour and 15 mins south of Raleigh.  Fayetteville is right on I95.  If you use Mapquest you can get an idea of where Im talking about.  There is an extremely large RC field off 95 just south of Dunn.  Unfortunately it is RC only.  There are quite a few people from Raleigh area that fly there.  Im not sure of the name of the Club but I can find out.  Just to the east of Fayetteville in a small town called Autryville there is another RC field that is CL friendly.  In fact they are interested in expanding CL flight at their field.  I have not flown there but have met several of the guys and they seem a good bunch.  Now that its warming up here, I will know more about the Autryville field soon.

Once youre settled in I would be more than happy to meet you and show you these fields.

Welcome to NC....Thomas

Thanks guys.  Looks like it will be October or so.  We're looking forward to getting out of this cold weather.  The downside is I belong to the club formed by John Brodak and live about 20 minutes away from where he has the Flyin every year.  Going to miss that.  Know anyone that wants to buy a well used snow shovel?
