Yesterday, Thursday i had the DOC Special in the back yard getting a needle set on the Brodak 40. It fire right up and the needle set was at a fast 4 stroke. Sut her down and decided to head for the field and fly. Yes the trees said it was windy, but in the past I would put everything away a say I will do it another day. I decided to heck with it and I loaded up and took my Mig as I know the wind doesn't bother it. First flight was on the Mig. The LA 25 fired right up and ran a little lean at first but then settled down to its normal run. The I hooked up the DOC Special. The Brodak was hesitant to start, but finally did. Any way I got the prop on take off and killed the engine. By this time the wind had died down. Changed props and he the Brodak decided not to start. The compression was good. Would not even fire a prime. Changed plugs and still no fire. Checked battery with the pug out of the engine nd it glowed bright red. After playing with it for a while it was getting dark so I called it quits The Brodak is going on the bench. More later but at least I have my first flight in for 2018.
