While I haven't been to the NATS, my recollection is that Wright Field is a fair bit to the far side of Dayton, Ohio, so while the AMA site is on the good side of Muncie, Wright Field is still where it was last time I was there, in 1946, when I was one year old. Battling through or going around Dayton to Fairborn will take an extra hour or more over the 1.5 hours that Google Maps suggests for a simple Muncie > Dayton.
I would be interested in knowing what is required to get into the base to visit the museum. There's a museum at Fort Lewis that pretty much isn't possible to visit since 9/11/2001 (truck traffic entering the base used to backup onto I-5), the museum at Edwards AFB is impossible for most civilians, and China Lake NWTC just moved the museum off base a few years ago to make it possible and not a nutso hassle.
