Thin CA Glue

I want to delay the setting time of thin CA glue a few seconds. Will refrigerating or freezing it work?

I read recently that you should not freeze CA. I think that info was in a MA issue in the last few months, in an interview of the owner of Mercury Adhesives.  Maybe that's why mine doesn't work right.  Steve

I have kept unopened bottles of ca in the frige for years without any problem.  I would not keep open bottles in the frige though.

I hope that it does not destroy the glue.  I may have "monokote bags" full of ribs  I have done it for years, but that is not very scientific.  It was done in ignorance but it seems to have worked.  Cold does delay the set and changes the viscosity.  Again, just my experience not a recommendation.

Why not get a bottle of the thicker CA.   It takes longer to go off.

If you're wanting the CA to have a slower reaction at contact, try this simple idea.  Have an old coffee cup sitting on your work bench filled  with ice cubes, keep the Ca bottle in that.  This will give you the extended time you want.
